14-17/10/19

After brainstorming what possible GIFs we're able to do, we tried out a few practice GIFs on our phones which was really fun because it gave us a better understanding of the process and also we got closer as a team and we learned a lot from mistakes we've made, which was a plus.

With some of the GIFs we had to retake them a few times because we had to get the perfect shot. For example the GIF of Francis we took was meant to be of him throwing the piece of paper into the bin but he missed, making us retake it 3-4 times and when we got the perfect shot but then we realised instead of using that we could use one of our failed attempts and make it symbolise our grade for that mission (as a JOKE). That was my favourite GIF because it was the only one with humour in it, despite it taking the longest to get.

When it came to resources we didn’t have to do a lot of research on what app to use as Francis knew all of that prior to this mission so that was really helpful.

And so we ended up using  the app “Shortcuts” by Apple, to turn our pictures/videos into GIF format
which was really easy. All we had to do was put our pictures or videos in the app and it created it for us, that’s probably why this mission was so fun!

A GIF we took that I really loved was of myself, Francis took it using a cinematic effect with the raindrops on the bench and then it went on to me (I fell at the end of that but thankfully Francis edited that part out). When we presented it, this GIF didn't work properly because of loading issues, which sucks as it was my favorite.

We picked the GIFs we liked best and created a presentation to present to our class. We then divided the presentation amongst us to present (I got 4 slides to present). We also created a script to use during the presentation, so we wouldn’t spend too much time on information like the history behind GIFs and instead talk more about what we made (the experiment).

After creating all the GIFs we started the presentation using the research we did on the history of GIFs and chose the slides we each wanted to present.
We split the slides between the three of us, this brought three different presentation styles to our class it gave different perspectives and we had our own individual humor that the class really enjoyed. Shaun was also impressed by this (I hope!)

The few resources we really used for this mission were phones to take pictures and videos for our GIFs and google chrome (for google documents, presentations and Apple shortcuts and also google information about the history/ founder of GIFs etc...), that’s it!

We presented our project on the 17/10/19
